| Pro-life | Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation? | ||
| I will protect the rights of all Americans, including those alive in the womb. PLease consider that U.S. corporations are granted a status of personhood. How can we grant inanimate corporations personhood status, but not the multiplying and dividing cells that are creating the offspring of you and me? Through the process of the sperm and the egg joining together the creation of a living being has begun. When men and women, write on paper, the documents that create a corporation, these documents are unable to multiple and divide by themselves. They aren't alive, but the human egg is alive. | |||
| No | Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan? | ||
| Yes | Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan? | ||
| As a former medic in the U.S. Army Reserves, I support our brave men and women in the military 110%. I do not support the use of our soldiers policing the world, at a cost that is financially unsustainable. Our troops are in 130 of 193 recognized countries. The cost to operate and maintain approximately 700 bases is over $500 billion dollars annually. With a $16 trillion dollar national debt and a $16 billion dollar debt in California, we must bring our troops home. How can we take care of others when we can't take care of ourselves? | |||
Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing the federal budget.In order to balance the budget,
| Yes | do you support reducing defense spending? | ||
| No | do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket? | ||
| No | do you support reducing Medicaid spending? | ||
| No | do you support reducing Medicare spending? | ||
| No | Is balancing the budget a legislative priority? | ||
| Members of Congress have authority over taxes and commerce. Many of our Fortune 500 companies are making record profits and paying little if any taxes. We need to have our corporations pay a more equitable share of our tax burden. | |||
| Yes | Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions? | ||
| What is needed is real campaign reform created by real people not a bunch of lawyers hashing out legislative bargains that in the end results in no real reform at all. | |||
| Yes | Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes? | ||
| The key is for certain crimes, that need to be well defined, as capital punishment is not a proven deterrent. | |||
| No | Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth? | ||
| Yes | Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation? | ||
| Yes | Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the temporary extension of unemployment benefits? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief? | ||
| We need to cut spending and giving our money to other countries and international organizations. | |||
| No | Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants? | ||
| The federal government needs to stay out of our educational systems. | |||
| Yes | Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production? | ||
| We need to be open to all sources of energy production. | |||
| No | Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change? | ||
| No | Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions? | ||
| No | Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns? | ||
| .....the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. I fully support the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. To this end will I support the possession of guns. | |||
| Yes | Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act? | ||
| No | Should individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act? | ||
| When you go to the store do you expect to get a free loaf of bread or when you go to the pump do you expect to get a free gallon of gas? No, we don't. No one should expect to get health care for free. Everyone should pay something even if it is $5 a month with a $5 co-pay. President Obama's push for healthcare reform was to get health coverage for 45 million uninsured Americans. We could have fixed this problem with the $100 billion dollars that we gave to the International Monetary Fund in 2010. | |||
| Yes | Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship? | ||
| Yes | Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police? | ||
| Become an American citizen, speak our language, work and support and defend the U.S. Constitution. | |||
| No | Do you support same-sex marriage? | ||
| I will support our traditional values of marriage between a man and a woman only. | |||
| No | Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict? | ||
| No | Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon? | ||
| We need to safe guard our American citizens from terrorist attacks. It is financially unsustainable to police the world for people who want to harm us. The most feasible way is to make America a secure place to live. That starts by strengthening and enforcing immigration policies. If there is clear and undeniable evidence that Iran is manufacturing nuclear weapons then we need to prevent them from doing so, but that does not mean we need to use military force as the primary means. If there is a real threat to our people, then yes we must use our military. | |||
| No | Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts? | ||
| When we think about privatizing social security, I think we need to look at what has happened to our privatized retirements accounts. Some have faired well where others have seen their nest eggs shattered. Social Security has worked for decades and could work for decades to come. One important factor to remember is the we need future generations to work. Let's start by educating our people and create an environment for people to work in trades or professions so they can keep the system functional. Congress must safe guard these funds from being used for other issues. NO OVER SPENDING. | |||

| America needs to decrease it's dependency of agriculture from foreign countries. The money saved from not having our troops in 130 countries could be used for the education of our people. Savings from Homeland security could be used to employ more police and fire personnel. The aid we give to countries like Pakistan ($30billion) for healthcare and education of their people should be used for Americans. Space exploration is great, but not when we are facing a $16trillion national debt and $16billion California debt. As more Americans are able to work then let's cut welfare spending. | |||
| Taxes are necessary for the operation of government programs and agencies. The Constitution gives power and authority to Congress to collect taxes. No one even members of Congress likes to pay taxes. As your Congressman, I understand that our people need to work in order for our government to operate. I understand that the investors and owners of corporations need to profit from their investments. As your Representative, I need to do my part to make sure that Congress doesn't spend more than it collects in taxes. With this in mind appropriate taxation for all is possible. | |||
